Camp Hill Home Adds 15.84kW Solar and 48kWh Battery Storage

Rising power bills had pushed one Camp Hill household to finally look seriously at solar, but they wanted more than a quick sales pitch. They needed a system that matched their roof and their actual usage, backed by installers who could show their work at every step.

Rethink Green Energy delivered a 15.84kW solar system paired with 48kWh of usable GoodWe battery storage, giving the home the ability to run through the evening and overnight on stored solar power. The system was tested, commissioned and certified within days, with all compliance paperwork handled on the homeowner's behalf.

The challenge

The homeowners in Camp Hill had watched their power bills climb every quarter and decided it was time to stop handing money to the grid. Like a lot of Queensland households, they had thought about solar for years but held off because they were not sure who to trust or whether a system would actually cover what they used. They also wanted more than just panels. With outages and rising evening rates becoming more common, they wanted a way to store power and use it after the sun went down.

The Rethink Green Energy Solution

After a full assessment of the property's roof space, orientation and household usage, our team designed a 15.84kW system using 36 high output panels split across multiple roof faces to make the most of the sun throughout the day. The system was paired with a 9.999kW GoodWe hybrid inverter and six GoodWe batteries, giving the home 48kWh of usable storage. That is enough capacity for the household to run through the evening and overnight on stored solar power rather than drawing from the grid. The battery system was also set up to be VPP capable, so the homeowners have the option to join a virtual power plant down the track if it suits them.

Installation and Project Delivery

Installation took place over two visits in June 2026. Our CEC accredited installer mounted the panel arrays across the north east, south west and north facing sections of the roof, then installed the inverter and battery stack in the garage along with the required isolators and switchboard upgrades. Every stage was checked against Clean Energy Council requirements and Queensland electrical safety regulations. The system was tested and commissioned on 24 June 2026, and the Queensland electrical safety certificate was signed off the following day. The homeowners received full documentation, including their Small scale Technology Certificate paperwork, so the rebate process was handled without them having to chase anything.

Why This Project Matters

This project shows what an oversized power bill and a genuine dose of scepticism looks like when it meets a system that is properly sized and properly installed. The household did not need the biggest system on the market. They needed one that matched their roof, their usage and their appetite for storage, backed by installers who could show their work every step of the way. With a battery this size, the home now has real protection against rising evening tariffs and outages, something that matters more each year as electricity costs continue to climb across Queensland.

Why Choose Rethink Green Energy?

Every installation we complete is backed by a 25 year workmanship warranty and carried out by CEC accredited installers, so homeowners are covered long after the last panel goes on the roof. We size every system to actual usage rather than upselling, and we handle the compliance paperwork, STC assignment and grid connection so customers are not left chasing details. As a family owned, Queensland based business, we are on the ground in the same suburbs we install in, which means support does not disappear once the job is done.
