After assessing the existing system and the roof, our team recommended adding 14 new panels rated at 440 watts each, positioned on the east facing section of the roof to pick up strong morning sun and balance out the home's existing array.
To handle both the extra solar generation and a full battery setup, we paired the new panels with a GoodWe hybrid inverter built to manage solar input and battery charging in the one unit. For storage, the homeowner went with a GoodWe battery bank made up of five stackable modules, giving the property roughly 41.5 kilowatt hours of usable capacity. That was enough to run the household through the evening peak and keep essential circuits going during a blackout.

Our licensed installation team carried out the work over two days in July 2026. The first day covered mounting the 14 additional panels on the east roof section, running new DC wiring, and installing the GoodWe hybrid inverter alongside the home's switchboard. The second day was dedicated to mounting and commissioning the five battery modules on an external wall, tying the whole system into the existing switchboard, and completing a full round of safety and performance testing.
Every stage of the job was carried out by CEC accredited installers and signed off by a licensed electrical contractor, with test results and compliance paperwork completed on site. The finished system was checked against AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 for grid connection and confirmed as safe and compliant before it was switched on. The additional panels also created eligibility for 96 Small-scale Technology Certificates, which helped offset the cost of the upgrade. The homeowner had a fully tested, compliant, and documented system ready to use within 24 hours of the crew arriving on site.
